Udenafil was approved by the Korean FDA in November 2005 and launched by Dong-A Pharmaceutical in Korea under the brand name Zydena® in late December 2005 as the fourth entrant to the ED market.

Results of laboratory studies showed that an injection of hMaxi-K could reverse diabetes-induced or age-related ED in animals for up to six months.

“I think that there’ll be enormous sales over the Internet. I think that there’ll be sales in bars, on street corners,” said sexual psychologist Leonore Tiefer, associate clinical professor of psychiatry at the New York University’s School of Medicine. “Certainly when the thing (bremelanotide) is first approved, I think it will be widely misused.”
